Tenant Referencing

We’ve introduced tenant referencing options to give you greater flexibility and control when assessing new applicants. These updates allow you to tailor referencing checks to suit different tenancy types, helping you make faster, more informed decisions while maintaining compliance and reducing risk. Whether that be via an external provider or using our new integration with Canopy!

What do I need to do to get started with Canopy?

You will need to subscribe to our Tenant Referencing add on for £10+VAT pcm and have a Canopy account where you will be billed directly based on usage by them.  If you don't already have a Canopy account, sign up via https://www.canopy.rent/request-form and make sure to let them know you are a 10ninety client.

How does it work if I want to keep using my referencing provider?

No problem! You would click 'Upload External Reference' on the 'Tenant Referencing' tab > upload the report and update the result once you have it:

How do I add the Guarantor?

If the tenant has a guarantor added to their profile (Tenant > Lettings Management Details) then you will be able to record the referencing for the guarantor, if required.

Simply click on the 'Reference' button next to the tenant to start a new record. Guarantor records will be kept even if their guarantor changes, for example if a guarantor fails the screening and a new guarantor is needed on the Lettings Management Details page.

How am I keeping track?

All your open tenant (and guarantor, if required) references in progress will appear in the Tenant References In Progress alert.

On the letting dashboard, you will also notice a helpful new widget (grey for In Progress, orange for Consider, red for High Risk, green for Accept) plus the Move-In milestones so you know exactly where you are ahead of the letting start date:
