You can now register deposit details directly from 10ninety to your deposit scheme account, saving you from manually re-entering details.
We support the following schemes:
- DPS Custodial
- TDS Custodial
- TDS Insured
- MyDeposits Custodial
- MyDeposits Insured
- MyDeposits Scotland (Custodial only)
There is an initial, one off setup required per scheme to utilise this which is covered in more detail here: https://helpcentre.10ninety.co.uk/hc/en-gb/articles/19752970198801
Once the initial setup is complete you can register details with the relevant scheme simply by navigating to the deposit you wish to register and clicking the 'Register Details With Scheme' link that appears under the Holding Details section of the deposit page. For example:
For custodial schemes the 'Where Deposit Held' dropdown should be set to 'Protection Scheme', with the relevant scheme set in the 'Protection Scheme' drop down. For Insured schemes the Where held drop down should be set to 'Agent', again with the relevant scheme selected in the Protection Scheme drop down.
Clicking the 'Register Details With...' link will attempt to register the deposit with the scheme by sending details of the tenants, the start date of the letting, the deposit amount, etc that have already been entered into your 10ninety system directly to them.
Each scheme has its own validation rules so you may receive an error message explaining what needs to be updated, for example, the DPS requires that tenants have either an email address or a mobile number:
To resolve this you just need to amend the details on your 10ninety system and then retry.
Most schemes will return these validation errors directly when making the call, however the TDS schemes work slightly differently and will instead initially accept the request in a 'Pending' state and wait to process them on their side. Once they have had a chance to process them, the deposit will either be registered or the request will fail and the reasons for the failure will be listed on the deposit page. Having sent the initial request you can check the status by clicking the 'Refresh status' link on the deposit page.
Once successfully registered, the deposit registration status within your 10ninety system will be updated to 'Created' and the Deposit Scheme Id will be saved against the deposit, eg:
Please note, the deposit still needs to be paid and will still need to be marked as lodged when the payment has been made.
If supported by the scheme, we will also download the relevant deposit certificate or prescribed information document and save it under the uploaded documents section of the letting.
Finally, if you have registered a deposit in error it is possible to remove the registration details stored against the deposit on your 10ninety system by clicking the 'Clear Registration Details' link under the registration status field. However, please note this will not delete the details from the scheme itself as it is not possible to do so via the scheme APIs. They would need to be manually removed by logging into the scheme directly.
